Hershberg and Hershberg, Consulting Engineers & Land Surveyors is a small civil engineering and surveying firm with one office at 18 Locust Street in Albany, NY. It is the successor firm to Ben B. Hershberg, Civil Engineer. This firm was originally a sole proprietorship formed in 1943 by Ben Hershberg upon leaving the City of Albany Bureau of Engineering, where he served as Assistant City Engineer.  Ben Hershberg graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1923 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree. 

In 1963, after graduation from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Daniel Hershberg joined the firm of Ben B. Hershberg, Civil Engineer as an employee.  In 1971, a partnership under the name Hershberg and Hershberg, Consulting Engineers & Land Surveyors was formed, with Ben Hershberg, P.E. & L.S., and Daniel Hershberg, P.E. & L.S., as partners.  In 1978, Ben Hershberg, now deceased, retired as a partner and became a consultant to the firm.  In January 1, 1987 two employees, Avrum F. Sofer, R.A. and Francis G. McCloskey, P.L.S., became partners in the firm, In 2020 Avrum F. Sofer, R.A. retired, leaving Dan and Frank partners.
